Plainville's David Soltis can't make the catch as Bullard Havens' Mark Rivera steals second base. |
5/29/08--If you give a solid team like Plainville extra outs and free passes in the tournament they will take advantage and quickly put the game out of reach. That’s just what the Blue Devils did on Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field in Plainville.
Every Plainville starter reached base and scored with the help of eight base on balls and eight errors by the visiting Tigers. David Soltis led the Blue Devil offense going 4-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Alex Bulger went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run. Eric Lake earned the win on the hill for Plainville.
The Blue Devils (18-4) advance to the Quarterfinals on Saturday to take on Fifth seeded Waterford (17-5) at McKenna Field in East Hartford at 12:30.
