Farmington's Dustin Rider scores five to lead the Indians over Southington, 10-7.
Saturday afternoon's game at Farmington High School was back and forth as the teams went into the break tied at five goals apiece. Farmington set the tone for the rest of the game as the Indians scored four unanswered goals in the second half to take a commanding 9-5 lead.
Three costly Southington penalties allowed Farmington to control the ball for most of the fourth quarter and run out the clock, denying Southington any chance for a comeback win.
Farmington's Willie Nissen scored two goals. Jimmy Brockman had a goal and two assists. Eric Clemmson and Alex Shlien also had a goal for the Indians. Gus Wollenberg stopped 21 shots for Farmington.
The Indians have won four in a row and improve to 8-3. They are currently ranked fourth in Division M and travel to Somers Tuesday for a 4:00 game.
Southington falls to 4-7 and hosts Windsor Wednesday at 4:30.
