1/21/10-Farmington--Nick Scarrozzo received the inbound pass with 2.7 seconds left in the game and hit nothing but net from beyond the arc to lift the Indians over Simsbury 42-39.
Down by seven after three quarters of play, Farmington outscored Simsbury 14-4 in the final frame to earn the comeback win. The student section mobbed the senior captain as he ran down the court in jubilation after hitting the shot, giving him a team high 13 points, 9 of which were scored in the fourth quarter.
Senior captain Greg Rosshirt scored 10, had 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Ben Pollack contributed 10 points and 4 rebounds. Alvin Meda scored 5 with 4 rebounds, 3 blocks, a steal and an assist. Jimmy Gatheright scored 4, grabbed 6 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Sophomore Max Spracklin had a rebound, 2 big steals and an assist for the winning squad.
Simsbury was led by Marcel Perry with 14 points (7-of-9 from the field).
Farmington improves to 3-8 and hosts E.O. Smith Tuesday at 7pm.
Simsbury falls to 4-7 and hosts Tolland Tuesday at 7pm.
